Half Day of Prayer - Will You Join Me?

OC International regularly schedules a half-day of prayer for all of our missionaries and staff members to join together in praying for God's work through OC around the world. Our next Day of Prayer is this coming Monday, February 11, 2013. I'm looking forward to partnering with other OC missionaries and a few friends who partner with us in ministry to lift up every region of the world in prayer.

One of the things that I love about this half-day of prayer together is that praises and prayer requests are gathered from all of our OC teams worldwide. It's so amazing to learn how God's been working and praise Him for the progress of the gospel. It's also a privilege to lift up my brothers and sisters in Christ who are serving in some tough places.

Praise and Prayer

This year, all our field teams were asked to submit one praise or answer to prayer, along with two prayer requests. We were also encouraged to choose key Scripture verses to accompany the praise and prayer requests submitted.

Unfortunately we cannot distribute or post the list of praises and requests outside our organization, so I can't share with you the mission wide list.

However, I would like to share what I submitted and invite you to join me in praising God and also interceding on our behalf.
1. We are praising God for His confirmation, purpose, and direction in establishing our Missional Challenge Team to train and coach leaders to take practical steps to engage those in the culture around them with the message of the gospel, resulting in the multiplying of disciples, leaders, and churches.

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6

2. We are asking God for His wisdom as we discover how to launch our Missional Challenge Team effectively.

"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:5

3. We are asking God for His provision for all of our needs, trusting that He knows what we need even before we ask!

"Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him." Matthew 6:8

Today's Missional Challenge: Set aside a half-day of prayer on a regular basis with other Christians to praise God and lift up your needs to Him! (And pray for us on Feb 11, 2013)
