How do you learn how to do anything? You learn by doing.

I was encouraged as I read this today…

The best way to learn how to pray is to pray! The best way to learn how to ride a bicycle is to start riding one! The best way to learn how to catch fish is to start fishing! The best way to learn how to present the gospel is to start doing it!

The best way to learn is by doing.

I was talking with a pastor this afternoon about the men that he is training to preach. As I stated the obvious – “You have to stop preaching one week if you are going to train others to preach” – I realized that this is true in many areas of training and development. The trainer has to stop doing the specific skill or activity so that you can give it a try. When I learned how to drive a car, my dad had to stop driving so I could learn to drive. The basic reality is:

The best way to learn is by doing.

So – what do you want to learn how to do? Start doing it!
