Moments come and moments go.

Do you remember where you were on 11/11/11 at 11:11am?

I was standing in line at a Starbucks in Manhattan. We were in town for my son’s senior flute recital at The Juilliard School. If someone in line ahead of me had not commented that it was 11:11 on 11/11/11 – I probably would have missed it.

In order to mark that moment in my memory, I snapped a quick picture of the screen on my phone.

Good stories are actually a series of moments strung together. Some people seem better than others at tying moments together with meaning.

I want to encourage you to pay attention to the moments in your day, and to consider their significance. Reflect on the meaning of small moments as well as big moments. Discover ways to mark them – to remember them.

Today is Veterans Day in the United States. I encourage you to reflect on the moments in your life that are directly a result of the freedoms that we have in our nation. Be grateful for those who have fought to preserve and defend those freedoms. Take a moment to remember.

I am grateful for those who have served our nation in the armed forces. Thank-you for your service and your sacrifice.
