Today I had the opportunity to connect with four men who stimulate my thinking.

Steve Ogne – Steve is an author, coach, trainer and consultant. We first met over 20 years ago when he coached me as I planted Lake Hills Church in Castaic. Over the past few years we’ve had the opportunity to think, plan, strategize and dream together. He served as the advisor on my doctoral dissertation at Bakke Graduate University. He’s served as a missionary with Church Resource Ministries for over two decades. Every time I am with Steve he encourages me and stretches my thinking. Today was no different.

Linus Morris – Linus is an author, trainer, Bible teacher, and missionary with Global Training Network. He has planted churches in Europe and served as the president of Christian Associates. He has an amazing passion for church planting and is currently engaged with CPMs in East Africa. This morning he challenged my thinking with perspective from the book of Romans.

Keith Webb – Keith is an author, trainer, coach, missionary and currently is the President of the ICF Washington State. We’ve been friends for several years and I love it when we get to hang together or train together. He is the developer of the Core Coaching Skills Certificate Program offered by Creative Results Management. It was great to talk with him about organizational leadership and strategic thinking.

Karl Teichert – Karl is a missionary with OC International serving as the Field Director in South Africa. We’ve known each other for years and partnered together in planting Lake Hills Church. He is a strategic thinker and actively involved in training and coaching church planters. We enjoyed catching up and talking about our families and our futures.

Each one of these four men serve God faithfully, have a breadth of ministry experience, and are influential in America and beyond. For me, it was a privilege to spend time with each of them and I look forward to our next connections. Why? Because they stimulate my thinking.

I need men in my life like that.

What about you?

Who stimulates your thinking?

It’s great to read books that cause you to think or expand your perspective. But you also need men and women in your life who help you to think in new ways or outside of your own limited point of view.

If you don’t have people in your life like that, find them. You need them!
